About us

The Koinonia KiwiSaver Scheme started when KiwiSaver first began. It is managed by a specialist not-for-profit organisation that has been in the retirement savings business for over 40 years.

Who we are

Our scheme provides Christians with an opportunity to invest in a KiwiSaver scheme that is founded on ethical and responsible investment principles that we believe reflect Christian values, notably our care when dealing with others, our ethical stance and our financial stewardship.

The Koinonia KiwiSaver Scheme was launched in 2007. It is open to a wide range of people in the Christian community, covering clergy, employees of Christian organisations, and persons who serve their Church or who are otherwise committed to Christian community involvement (and those persons’ immediate families).

Koinonia (koy-nohn-ee’-ah) is the Anglicisation of a Greek word. The word is used in the New Testament of the Bible to describe the relationships within the early Christian church. The essential meaning of koinonia embraces concepts conveyed by the English terms fellowship, association, community, communion, joint participation, and sharing.

The New Zealand Anglican Church Pension Board is a not for profit organisation set up by the Anglican Church to provide retirement savings for clergy and employed lay-workers. We have been doing so since 1972.

The Board is held in high regard throughout the Church and has gained a reputation for excellent service and careful investment stewardship over many years.
